A call for global action
A report by the international Millenium Project called ‘State of the Future 2009’ adds heavy weight behind the call for global co-operation on climate change this December. Backed by big hitters like the World Bank and UNESCO it concludes that: ‘the scope and scale of the future effects of climate change has unprecedented implications for political and social stability’. "The good news” they suggest, “is that the global financial crisis and climate change planning may be helping humanity to move from its often selfish, self-centred adolescence to a more globally responsible adulthood”. Let’s hope they’re right!
